Barcelona to Host Historic Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
