The loved ones of teenagers missing after a devastating inferno at a venue in a Switzerland's winter destination are enduring an painful wait for confirmed information and appealing for information about their children publicly.

The inferno engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Circulated footage show the ceiling catching alight as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Authorities have stated that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the those who perished of the disaster, which killed 40 people and injured another scores more. Authorities said on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with the process still underway to name the remaining few.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For

"It feels like a terrible dream, an ordeal. Either I find my son in the morgue, or I find him in intensive care. Words cannot describe it," she told the paper.

She added that some of his companions had been located with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they went through hell."

The Italy's government has indicated that a number of of its young people have not been located.

Junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.
